Overview

This short course is for anyone who has to carry out manual handling risk assessments in the workplace. It provides supervisors and employees with the knowledge and understanding of the manual handling risk assessment process and the skills required to undertake a suitable and sufficient risk assessment.

On completion, delegates will understand the importance of manual handling risk assessments; understand the principles of controlling the risks from manual handling and understand how a manual handling risk assessment is undertaken.

Description

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require employers to assess any hazardous manual handling tasks that cannot be avoided and reduce the risk of injury, as far as practically possible.

The British Safety Council Certificate Manual Handling Risk Assessment course includes interactive e-Learning exercises, a downloadable study text and knowledge tests. It provides supervisors and employees with the knowledge and understanding of the manual handling risk assessment process and the skills required to undertake a suitable and sufficient risk assessment.

On completion of the course, delegates will:

Assessment

The British Safety Council Certificate Manual Handling Risk Assessment course is assessed by means of an online exam. This relates directly to the delegate’s workplace and tests the application of learning in a practical context.

Learners have six weeks to complete the course and assessments once enrolled. The enrolment period begins once a learner is registered in the system, not on purchase.
